DIRECTOR
OF TRAINING &
ADVANCEMENT:
Fred Brown

NEW ON JUNE 1
The Bobcat Rank will now be earned prior to starting the Tiger Cub Rank.  The requirements for the Bobcat rank are in the back of the Tiger Cub Handbook.  The Bobcat badge of rank worn on the uniform will be just under the button on the left hand pocket.  When the Scout earns the Tiger Badge, it will be postioned just below the Bobcat badge.  The Wolf and Bear badges will be placed side by side just below the Bobcat Badge.

ADVANCEMENT
Advancement is the process by which youth members of the Boy Scouts of America progress from rank to rank.  It is simply a means to an end and not an end in itself.  That end is embodied in the principles listed below.

PRINCIPLES OF ADVANCEMENT

  • Personal growth
  • Learning by doing
  • Progress at his or her own rate
  • The badge is recognition of ability, not just achievement
  • Encourages Scouting ideals

Advancement occurs through the merit badge program, scholarships and awards.  The navigation tabs above will guide you to volumes of information not only on this site but also on the national web site and others.
