The Shawnee River Trail, and the Crab Orchard and Panthers Den Wilderness all surround the lakes of this refuge. Scouts have unbelievable outdoor resources at their disposal.
Pine Ridge Scout Camp is located on the northwest shore of the lake. From Giant City Road, turn on Grassy Road. Once you have crossed the dam, turn right on the gravel road and follow it to the camp. Year-round camping and fishing is available.
MUSGRAVES LODGE
A log cabin facility with beds for 18 people. The lodge has barbecue grills, electricity, refrigerator and a wood-burning furnace for heat. Troops need to provide wash buckets, cooking gear, firewood and mattresses/sleeping pads. Cost is $100 per weekend.
TROOP LODGE
The lodge is available for weekend use as a winter cabin. The lodge has bunks for four with floor sleeping for up to 10 more. Troop Lodge has a wood-burning sove, refrigerator and electricity. Troops provide stove, wash buckets, cooking gear, mattresses/sleeping pads and firewood. Cost for weekend is $100.
LODGES
Bailey and Troop Lodges are available for meetings, training sessions or courts of honor. Cost is $45 per day.
ROCK CLIMBING
Climbing is available at nearby Giant City State Park. Gear is checked out at Pine Ridge Scout Camp. Cost is $60 per group.
